I love Easter and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend together with family and friends.
I'm reminded of the reason we celebrate Easter and boy did my husband and I enjoy watching "The Bible" series over the last 5 weeks.
We were able to escape to the cottage over the weekend..and while there I was able to knock off a few more projects.
I was so busy that I neglected to get "before" pics of everything.
But I do have "after" ones.
Aren't you proud of me? I mean I did eventually get around to taking those pics..and that counts for something right? :)
First up...my frames/mirrors converted to chalk boards.
If you are ever looking for a great project, I highly suggest doing this. They look awesome and are great for any room of your home. Sadly my husband doesn't want them..so they are for sale. :)
Then I tackled a side project.
You know the ones. The ones that you work on between the ones that "need" to get done.
I started off with an antique dresser drawer. It didn't seem to fit with anything. I thought and thought and thought...a pet bed! PERFECT. I put a pillow in it and threw my dog inside. I needed to know if a dog would lay in it. (having a dog is great for experiments like that)
It worked!
But I didn't want it on the floor. So I took out some legs I had sitting around and attached them to the bottom of the drawer with re enforcements.
Then out came the paint. So far so good...loving it.
Here is where my mistake happened. I stood back and thought maybe the pillow should go on top and the inside would be good for storage.
Well you know that once an idea has taken root, I can't just leave it there right??
So this is what I ended up with.
Of course a dog or cat can lay on it, and you can store stuff in there.
But now I'm wondering if maybe it's just to gosh darn pretty for a pet?
It's now the perfect height for an adult (like me, I'm 5'6")
I just love these legs :)
And these handles were off another project antique and painted white. I thought black was just to dark.
And of course the storage. How wonderful is that?
And finally I found this table. I'm such a sucker for shutters and the faux shutter drawer grabbed my attention.
I primed and painted and distressed. And love.
I really wish I had room for this either at home or at the cottage But I don't, so it is also for sale :)
I'm not sure about the white knob...thoughts? Would love to hear you your feedback on this one.
So this is what I did this weekend...oh and spent time with family.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend :)
