What dreams are made of

Someday I'm going to share my bedroom. I swear it isn't a mess and it isn't scarey, it's just ho hum. I want to slap paint on my bed and the dresser and the bedside tables......the walls etc. I think you understand now.
But until my husband is on board...ho hum is going to stay :(

BUT I can live my dream bedroom through others. :)
This week I was able to have fun and live that dream through a client when they dropped off their bedroom furniture for me to redo.

I'm sure you noticed this isn't matching. But who cares? And although you can't see the whole bed, you can get a feel for what I was working with.
The wife gave me free reign to do what I want...as long as I used teal and grey.
I love challenges like that. And she wanted to know if I could find some bedside tables as well.
I totally lucked out at my "junk" store. (want to know more about it, you can read my post here MY JUNK STORE )
I found a set of bedside tables that match the tall boy EXACTLY!
How lucky is that?
But they weren't tall enough. I should have taken pics while working on them.
sigh...someday I will learn.

I took everything apart and started out with a good coat of my own chalk paint in teal

My camera sucks...or I suck at taking pics because I swear the colour is teal and not this blue.
I would have LOVED to have done another coat and then glaze it..but was reminded that the clients wanted grey.
So I continued in my mission to make them super happy :)
And this is what I ended up with.
From a distance this does look all grey...but up close it has bits and pieces of teal showing through.
And seriously how cute are these bedside tables? If they weren't destined for this client I think my husband would have stolen them for himself. He tried this last week as well...stealing from one of my clients. Maybe I should do one up for him. ;)

I really REALLY like how the teal peeks through in so many spots.

They picked up the set last night and swore they would send me pics in it's final home. I can't wait to see :)

  3. Hi! I love how it turned out! Isn't it funny how paint can update furniture so completely? Anyway, great job, and talk about lucky on those end tables! I'm from Ontario too (closer to Toronto) and I find that I rarely find great pieces or deals at junk stores! I'm sure you have a very happy customer.
