Puttin on the Ritz

Ever get a song stuck in your head?
I do
Especially when working on an old piece.

I picked this up last week...and that song kept popping into my head. I pictured some family sitting around this old radio and listening to number 1 tunes or the news or "soap operas"
A treasured piece in any home.

Sadly these things are often neglected and forgotten.
So when I found this in a pile of snow outside my junk store, I couldn't resist taking it home.
I felt this piece needed, begged to be brought back to life.
Not as a radio of course.
But as a cabinet.
I had so much fun recreating this.
Even after sitting in the snow in three pieces, this top went together perfectly!
I had pictured this green in my mind before I even brought it home. I fought it at first, thought that a straight yellow or white would sell well, but I couldn't make myself do it. It was screaming green.
Every time I look at all those legs and the curves, I swoon. Yes people...I swoon over furniture. :)

 Isn't that top perfect?
And well, since I had my camera out, I grabbed my wax seal collection and had a bit of fun snapping pictures of them. Same time frame I think?

Look at how stunning that wood is.

This is probably going to be the hardest to let go of.

Sigh

Off to work on more pieces and then see if I can get this song out of my head.
